Day 1: From Ouarzazate to Erg Chegaga
Early departure from your hotel in Ouarzazate in a 4×4. Our first stop takes us through the lush Drâa Valley, passing through Zagora and Tamegroute, famous for their kasbahs and unique pottery. After lunch in M’hamid, the last town before the desert, a detour to the sacred oasis prepares us for the vast expanses of Erg Chegaga. Upon arrival at the bivouac, get ready to be dazzled by the sunset over the dunes, followed by a delicious Moroccan dinner by the fire, under a spectacular starry sky. Your night will be spent in the comfort of the large bivouac tents, enveloped in the soothing silence of the desert.
Day 2: Return from Erg Chegaga to Ouarzazate
Wake up to a magnificent sunrise over the dunes before enjoying a hearty breakfast at the bivouac. The return route takes you through the vast dried Iriki Lake to Foum Zguid. Enjoy a tea or coffee break in this town known as the gateway to the desert. We will then continue to the palm grove of Zguid and Tazenakht, where you will have the opportunity to have lunch and explore the rich local craftsmanship, especially the famous colorful rugs. The day ends with a return to Ouarzazate, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the landscapes and cultures of southern Morocco.
