Day 1: Escape from Marrakech to Erg El M’Hazil
At dawn, our team will pick you up from your Marrakech hotel, marking the beginning of your desert adventure. The journey itself is an experience, crossing the magnificent Tizi N’Tichka pass in the Atlas Mountains, heading to the town of Tazenakht, famous for its handmade carpets. We’ll have a lunch break along the way before reaching Foum Zguid, known as the gateway to the desert. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in nomadic culture by choosing a traditional headscarf (chèche). Then, take the rocky 4×4 tracks to Erg El Mhazil, where the first Sahara dunes await you. Enjoy the sunset over the dunes before indulging in a tajine prepared by our chef. The evening unfolds around the campfire, sharing stories under the stars, before resting in our comfortable tents.
Day 2: From Erg El M’hazil to Erg Chegaga, via the Nomad School
After an outdoor breakfast, we’ll head to the nomad school, a unique establishment for the children of nomadic tribes. It will be a precious opportunity for meetings and cultural exchanges. After a refreshing picnic under the palm trees of a nearby oasis, our journey continues by 4×4 to the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Once there, relax in the comfortable camp and explore the surrounding dunes. Don’t miss the camel ride at sunset, a magical moment when the desert is adorned with shades of red and orange. The evening ends with a traditional meal and musical ambiance around the fire in the peaceful vastness of the desert.
Day 3: Return to Marrakech via the Draa Valley
The last day begins with sunrise over the dunes, a spectacle not to be missed. After breakfast, we’ll start the journey back, heading up the Draa Valley. We’ll stop in M’Hamid El Ghizlane and cross the lush palm groves of Zagora, Tamegroute, and Agdz. In Tamegroute, a visit to the famous local pottery is scheduled, where you’ll discover the unique green glaze craftsmanship of this region. Lunch in one of the palm grove towns will be provided. Finally, we’ll continue our journey to Ouarzazate and cross the Tizi N’Tichka pass to return to Marrakech, where we’ll take you back to your hotel.
